RHA managing director Rod McKenzie has told BBC Midlands Today how the ongoing HGV driver shortage crisis has been made even worse by the #pingdemic of logistics workers being told to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace app.
We have called for double-jabbed, Covid-free truck drivers and other logistics professionals to be classified as 'critical workers' and exempted from self-isolating if pinged by the NHS app, as long as they can continue to provide negative Covid-19 tests, in order to keep the UK supply chain flowing.
