I (33F) met my ex-husband, Dan (40M), almost 15 years ago at a restaurant while celebrating my 18th birthday. Dan was incredibly nice, charming, and mature. He made me feel loved and special, which was something I desperately needed as I grew up in a dysfunctional family. My parents constantly fought, and my father would sometimes disappear for months.
