GEORGETOWN, PENANG! Walking in Campbell Street Mall Georgetown Penang Malaysia
Campbell Street, or Lebuh Campbell, is a street in George Town, Penang. It is within the buffer zone of the George Town Unesco World Heritage Site. A one-way street, it runs from Penang Road to the junction of Buckingham Street and Carnarvon Street. In between, it forms junctions with Kuala Kangsar Road, Cintra Street and Rope Walk.
Georgetown was originally established as a tobacco port town in Maryland, and housed a lumber yard, cement works, and the Washington Flour Mill. More than two centuries later, in 1967, Georgetown was designated a National Historic Landmark. It’s included in the inventory of Historic Places, as well as the National Register of Historic Places.
