Higher education is moving through a breathtaking period of transformation. Enrollment declines, digitization, student debt, a tightening labor market, and innovation outside the degreed space are five forces creating turmoil across higher education. All of this comes against the backdrop of the massive societal impacts of a global pandemic and the emergence of massive share-taking online institutions (WGU, SNHU, ASU, and Purdue). In this presentation, we’ll look at the implications of each of these forces driving change and examine the opportunities they create, specifically around the area of digital credentialing.
