XENIA -- The 11-member special grand jury was selected and spent a few hours in court on Monday.
We're told 36 prospective jurors were randomly selected by computer and called in to the Greene County Courthouse in Xenia on Monday morning.
Eleven jurors were chosen, including five men and five women. Two of those folks will act as alternates in case any emergencies arise.
Prosecutors tells us they expect it will take several days before a decision is made. This week the jury will hear all the evidence the special prosecutor and his investigative team has gathered over the last six weeks.
It will take seven or more votes to get an indictment.
We caught up with John Crawford III's father, who says he's hopeful that justice will prevail.
"We're not anti-police, that's not what this is about. It's just about being pro justice. Sometimes, unfortunately, we get it wrong. We being law enforcement," John Crawford Jr. said Monday.
Since the Aug. 5 shooting death of Crawford's son, there's been an outcry from the community. Protesters continued their involvement Monday by making an 11-mile walk from the Beavercreek Walmart to the county courthouse in Xenia.
