AMC Rambler Rebels were the number one automobile used by Driving Schools across America. This AMC produced film using product placement placed an AMC Rambler Rebel in the film for all Students to see. The Rebel was completely restyled for 1967 and still to this day is thought of as one of the prettiest cars produced by AMC. The restyle was done under the leadership of CEO Roy Abernathy. Mr. Abernathy was retired from AMC in very Late 1966 for the financial losses suffered in 1966. He remained on the Board of Directors for a few years. Fairly or unfairly, the work he set out the Design Teams to do in the mid 60s propelled the company into the 1970's where they were positioned to do very well. 95,352 Rebels were manufactured in the 1967 model year.
