As you may know, I am a dual sport/adventure motorcycle rider most of the time, but when I got the chance to take my dad's new to him 2014 Can Am Outlander 800R out for a test ride on the trails, I knew I couldn't pass it up. This isn't necessarily a typical Can Am Outlander review, more of a test ride and first impressions from the perspective of someone with a ton of motorcycle experience, but not a lot of seat time on quads. On my test ride I checked out some easy and medium difficulty trails at East Fort Rock OHV area, spend some time contemplating the ease of riding a quad vs motorcycle, cut a few cookies, get the front end off the ground a bit, experiment with the awesome power of the 800r's engine, and put the suspension to the test over some whoops and on a short hill climb.
