Brownies, Rainbows and Cutthroats were hitting on the Gardiner pretty consistently. Temps were cold, every morning in the 20s, eventually topping off in the upper 30s for the first several days. And boy, was it windy! But we had an absolute ball on the Gardiner, more of a stream than a river, and being close to geysers helped keep the water temps just right to keep the fish feeding. if you ever get up to the northeast entrance of the park in the town of Gardiner, please stop into Park's Fly Shop, check out their tackle and flies, plus they have all the information you'll need to fly fish in Yellowstone Park.
