The name “Gudvangen” means “the field of the gods” in Norwegian, and it’s believed that the Vikings used to hold religious ceremonies in the area. Another hidden gem of Gudvangen is the Tvindefossen waterfall, located just a short drive from the village. The waterfall is 152 meters high and is surrounded by lush greenery.
