Coronavirus: Facts vs Myths | The B.1.617 variant of the Covid virus, first found in India last October, seems to be transmitting more easily than the original version of the virus. The World Health Organization said on Monday that the B.1.617 variant first is being classified as a "variant of global concern". The variant has already spread to other countries, and many nations have moved to cut or restrict movements from India. We speak with Dr Sapan Pandya, immunologist and member of Gujarat's Covid Task Force, on what this means for India. We also asked him on the debate over Ivermectin, with Goa announcing it will give the drug to all adults. While the WHO has denied its usefulness, a study published in the May issue of the American Journal of Therapeutics has claimed that regular Ivermectin may cut risk of contracting Covid.
