In this video, I will give you an overview of Interactive Brokers (IBKR), the types of IBKR account, as well as showing you the steps to open an IBKR account and funding it - Everything you need to get started investing with IBKR!
👉🏻👉🏻Steps to Open a TradeStation Global (Interactive Brokers) "TSG-IBKR" Account:
✅Step 1: Register on TSG Website
- Visit: [ Ссылка ]
- Click "Create An Account" under New Application
- Fill in the New Application Form on the right, and click "Continue to Application"
- Fill up the remaining personal details and submit your application
✅Step 2: Wait for Account Approval
- You should be receiving a call (from TSG, UK number) within 24 to 48 hours
- Validate and confirm your application
- If you miss the phone call, check your e-mail, and reply them accordingly
- After 24 to 48 hours, your account should be ready for funding
✅Step 3: Fund Your IBKR Account with 2,500 USD💰
- There are 2 funding method:
A) Foreign Telegraphic Transfer from your Malaysian bank, or
B) Using TransferWise
- I will elaborate Method B as it is cheaper, plus FX at spot rate, which saves you a lot!
👉🏻(1) Using TransferWise, transfer from your local bank account (RM) to your CIMB Singapore account (SGD). This should cost around RM 60 for 2,500 USD equivalent.

👉🏻(2) Initiate Bank Wire in your Interactive Brokers account. Then, Wire Funds from your CIMB Singapore account (SGD) to IBKR Singapore (SGD) under the name of Citibank NA, Singapore. Note that the initial deposit is 2,500 USD for account activation. This should be free as there are no fee for local transfer.
👉🏻(3) Login to your IBKR account. You should be able to see the SGD equivalent of 2,500 USD (~3,340 SGD). Open the menu tab on the left column, and choose "Convert Currency". Your "From" will be SGD while your "To" will be the market you intend to trade (if US market, then choose USD). Click submit and you should have the 2,500 USD ready for trading. This conversion will cost 2 USD minimum (most of the time) at spot rate, very cheap if you ask me!
✅Step 4: 🌟❗️Please wait for TSG to contact you for account activation before you start trading (You can also notify TSG attaching your funding slip via email: globalsupport@tradestation-international.com)❗️🌟
❗️❗️(28th Feb 2021) Please be noted that the funding for IBKR SG is no longer with Citibank NA Singapore (changed to be HSBC Corp Ltd). Don't forget to check before you make your next SGD deposit to IBKR!
❌❌TSG is currently not available in a few notable countries, such as US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.
