Alexandra Lysova spoke to Parental Alienation Canada on domestic violence and coercive control! During this zoom call, Alexandra went over her research and cases of parental alienation. She opens up our eyes to see how abuse is not gendered.

Alexandra went over the recent call from UN women, asking for input to substantiate their so-called gendered paradigm of parental alienation. She will discuss what is inaccurate about this paradigm.

She is a Criminology Professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (Canada) and her research interests focus on intimate partner violence, female aggression and male victimization, cross-cultural studies of violent crime, and homicide in Russia and other countries. She received her Doctor of Sciences degree in Sociology from the Russian Academy of Sciences and her PhD in Criminology from the University of Toronto. Her recent publications appear in the Handbook of European Homicide Research, Theoretical Criminology, Aggressive Behavior, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and the Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs. She has received awards, scholarships and fellowships from the Trudeau Foundation (Canada), Fulbright Foundation (USA), Carnegie Foundation (USA), Humboldt Foundation (Germany), and President Research grants in Russia. At Simon Fraser University, she teach courses "Special Topics of Crime: Violence and Aggression"​, "Criminological Theory", and "Gender and Crime".
