Exploring themes of sexuality, religion, technology and good versus evil, both Dracula's cultural and literary significance remains undisputed. This new Folio edition is a fitting tribute to Bram Stoker's gothic masterpiece.
For this ultimate collector’s edition, artist Angela Barrett has produced 15 intensely atmospheric colour plates, a set of elaborate hand-drawn borders and nine black-and-white tailpieces. The gothic theme continues to the metallic gold and red-blocked binding motifs and red ribbon marker while the swirl of the blood-red marbling on the slipcase is deliciously macabre.
The edition has also been introduced by Irish novelist John Banville, who reflects on Stoker’s life and the circumstances and influences that led to Dracula becoming not only his most successful novel, but also revered as one of the greatest horror stories ever written.
The Folio Society produces beautifully crafted collector’s editions of the world’s greatest books, each with unique illustrations or specially researched photographs throughout. Find books you love at foliosociety.com
