FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WHINED ABOUT IE9 ADDRESSING THE STANDARDS ISSUE, VIEW MY FOLLOWUP VIDEO!

You should not be using ANY version of Internet Explorer. Not v6, not v7, not v8, and not v9. They are buggy, NOT standards compliant, NOT as fast as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox v4, and IE is not NEARLY as secure as the other browsers. When there are security issues, the Mozilla and Google Teams release fixes rather quickly. Microsoft has taken months to YEARS (yes, years) to fix security holes (like the DOS box fix released last year... over TWO DECADES to fix).
Currently, I am working on migrating the Star Trek Phase 2 website to Wordpress, and am running into a plethora of compatibility issues in Internet Explorer (EVERY version is running into issues). I have to write fixes for EVERY version (because they ALL do things differently, and they ALL are broken).
You, the web surfer never see that work - almost every web developer spends an inordinate amount of time fixing their websites so they run on each version of IE. BUT... what that means is added costs to the website/property owners, and added time. Instead of adding the rest of the site content to the new site, I have spent THREE DAYS (it's a pretty complex Wordpress theme) writing fixes for Internet Explorer (and I'm not nearly done). That time could be spent adding better or new features to the website - except much of them would break in various versions of IE (or require NUMEROUS DAYS to get working on each version).
So... if you don't care about the extra work web developers go through to make websites work in IE, and you don't care about the extra costs that end up getting passed on to consumers... fine. Switch to Chrome or Firefox (or Safari or Opera or anything but IE) because they are faster, less buggy and more secure.
