Yes, it's named after the AC-130
I first built this as a DIY hand operated camera slider. Used it once and decided to convert it into a motorized camera slider.
Scavenging for things to start building the motorized slider I resorted to my cheap Ryobi cordless hand drill I had laying around. the drill ended up not having enough low end torque, so I ended up switching to a geared motor setup. It still used the Ryobi 18volt battery but they drain very quickly and under power the electronics, it will be upgraded to a 24volt system soon.
Total travel of the camera mount is 51". At full throttle, it takes 25 seconds to travel the 51" with a 18 volt setup.
