We’re getting up into the stratosphere now with our altissimo series. Here is how to play high E and F in the altissimo register on saxophone.
High E is 4(F), 6(D) and Eb, so right hand keys only
High F is the same but add 1(B) and 3(G)
As with all high notes, both fingerings need the octave key too.
Try playing all the Es on the sax in octaves to check tuning and consistency. These are quite tricky notes, you may need a hard reed and a little more pressure than you’re used to, but keep working at them and they will come. There are dozens of alternative fingerings, but these are good for tuning and relatively easy to remember.
