This was filmed in Rock Church in Lower Sackville NS.
This poem is for all my fellow Church Kid's out there. Sometimes in church there is so much of an emphasis put on the lost outside of the church that we forget about the very ones that are among us. As someone who has been in church my entire life, I've realized that the biggest struggle I face as a church kid is apathy. We are called to be passionate and excited in our pursuit after God but how many times do we fall into apathy because of routine? I know for me the answer is a lot. It's a struggle that church kids face every single day. But Jesus died for the apathy in my life and his grace not only covers me but it also empowers me to do better than I ever could on my own. It empowers me to live a passionate life in pursuit of my God. Thankfully I have come to a place where I've experienced this grace and my prayer is that if you are a church kid, you would also be able to experience the grace of Jesus just as I have. Your life will never be the same.
PS. I wrote this poem from the perspective of a stereotypical church kid. I know for a fact that there are many church kids who have gotten involved with drugs & alcohol and things of that sort in the past don't read into the specific line where I say "now of course I've never done drugs." The point was to highlight that apathy is a HUGE struggle for church kids. Hope you enjoyed the poem!
