We’ll start off with a demo on latex — it’s a fantastic way to practice since you get a feel of the texture similar to human skin. One crucial tip is the variation in color density within each stroke — starting light, getting darker and thicker in the middle, and then fading out light again. This gradation is what gives the stroke that natural flair!

I’ll show you my hand movements to achieve these results. It’s all about controlling the speed and pressure — start slow and gentle, build up in the middle with more passes for that depth of color, and then ease out with a wider, faster movement. Watching the video, you’ll see how I keep my movements in the air before touching down on the latex. This “pre-draw” technique avoids those abrupt, dark beginnings which can make the strokes look heavy and artificial.
