Does the Wavetrac's unique wave design eliminate the zero-traction weakness of a typical helical-gear-style limited slip differential such as a Quaife or MFactory? You be the judge.
Using my 2003 BMW 330i ZHP with Wavetrac LSD, I tested traction with one wheel on ice and both wheels on ice. Tires are Bridgestone Turenza ER33's (crappy all season's that I bought used off ebay for hooning), and it was a balmy 32 degrees. Driveway is slightly sloped, so the car is trying to go up the incline in each shot.
For fun, off camera, I did the same test with my F150 which has an OEM clutch-style limited slip differential, and honestly, it behaved EXACTLY the same way.
