The SMPTE ST 2022 suite of standards provides a reliable way of using IP to transmit signals that were traditionally sent over serial interfaces. ST 2022-2, -3, and -4 carry MPEG-2 transport streams over IP rather than the asynchronous serial interface (ASI) conventionally used for carriage. ST 2022-6 carries uncompressed video and ancillary data typically found on serial digital interfaces (SDI). ST 2022-1 and 2022-5 provide forward error correction (FEC) for those signals, and ST 2022-7 provides for a seamless protection system using packet redundancy. This webcast will review this suite of standards, including format descriptions and typical use cases.
