Social Security, age 70 and the new full retirement age explained
In this video, we are discussing the Social Security full retirement age and the age of 70 which is what lawmakers are now discussing in regards to raising the full retirement age for Social Security benefits up to the age of 70. We’re discussing the full retirement age and the new full retirement age explained as lawmakers want to increase solvency of the Social Security program as well as make sure that Social Security is around for many more generations to come into the future. As a result of this, they are floating many different ideas including raising Social Security taxes, expanding Social Security benefits, adjusting the full retirement age as well as a variety of other changes they may be implementing. As a result of this, we are specifically talking about the Social Security full retirement age and a potential 70 year full retirement age. Currently, the full retirement age for Social Security benefits is between 66 and 67, however they may be adjusting the full retirement age for Social Security benefits up to the age of 70.
