"I'm sorry I was gone. But look I made you some content!"
Hi guys. This is a big moment for me. It's shocking to see that it's been almost 4 years since I last uploaded a cover vid. Story time is that I suffered from severe vocal damage over the last 4 years. Acid reflux, muscle tension, and some technique issues I think all led to me losing my high belt range. It put me into a pretty dark place for years. Belting out Coheed/Claudio's vocals has been my cathartic emotional release for so long. And I couldn't do it anymore, and sounded awful. And I saw many doctors and did many treatments and meds, and thought it would never come back. And it was a bit of an identity crisis, high belting had always been my "thing". And I couldn't experience it anymore, and I couldn't share the music I wanted to share with all of you whenever something inspired me.
But after procedures, meds, a voice therapist, and now a vocal coach to help learn new ways to sing around the remaining damage, I'm finally almost back to where I used to be! And it feels so incredibly good, I can't even describe it. If you hopefully make it to the end, those high notes on "Your Father's dead he passed in his sleep", I haven't been able to hit those for almost 4 years. It's helping me out of another dark place to be able to post this and share it with you all, I really hope you enjoy! And more videos to come very soon, so keep checking back!
