George Weah | The 1995 World best player who became president of Liberia

George Manneh Oppong Weah is a Liberian politician and former footballer who is currently serving as the 25th president of Liberia and has been in office since 2018. He is the first former professional footballer to become head of state. He is widely regarded as the greatest African player of all time. In 1995, he was named Fifa World Player of the Year and won the Ballon d or, becoming the first and to date only African to win these awards. In 1989, 1994, and 1995, he was named the African footballer of the year, and in 1996, he was named African player of the century.
