Running street clashes have erupted in Brussels between rival fans from Belgium and Italy after the two sides met in the Euro 2000 football match on Tuesday night.
Police initially stood by as gangs of youths from both nations converged on the Bourse - Belgian's stock exchange - after the game in which Italy triumphed - throwing chairs and bottles at each other.
But after 40 minutes the police moved in to break up the skirmishes.
At least one fan was injured after being hit in the face with a fire cracker
It is the second time fans of one of the host nations (Belgium and the Netherlands) have been involved in disturbances since the beginning of the tournament.
Italy won the game 2-0, scoring a goal in each half of the match.
