Todd Bridges opened up about his past struggles with drug addiction and his legal troubles. Bridges detailed his heavy experimentation with dangerous substances like cocaine, crack, and meth, all of which resulted in highs and lows and a false sense of confidence. Deeper into his past, he spoke about being charged in 1987 for attempted robbery, a case that was dismissed. Later, in 1989, he faced an attempted murder charge. Despite Bridges not being present during the incident, he was charged because he was in the vicinity when it occurred. Key prosecution witnesses would later state he was outdoors when the shooting happened. Bridges was also denied bond during this time, a move by his lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, that he believes prevented further unraveling. Bridges eventfully overcame both the legal troubles and his addiction, attaining sobriety by 1993.
