This video serves as a demonstration of the last encounter of the Mirror Involution, as well as a comprehensive guide on everything that the potential viewer should know to successfully clear this EX stage: the attacks and movement patterns of the boss, the most preferable and effective fleet compositions and the choice of an equipment, capable of successfully penetrating the armour of this boss.
The preferable team compositions were briefly mentioned in the video and I want to expand on this topic. The main source of damage in this fleet is the battleship -- Bismarck Zwei in our case. The effectiveness of semi-armour-piercing shells allows the said ship class to deal an absurd amount of damage against Souryuu META even when some of the projectiles miss their target. However, any other self-sufficient battleship can be chosen over the aforementioned one. For example, Musashi -- even with her regular 460mm gun -- will be able to deal even more damage because of a powerful barrage, while New Jersey would show more or less the same results. Friedrich der Grosse, Ulrich von Hutten, Georgia or any other good battleship can be used in this battle, so there's not much to talk about.
As for the carriers, they ensure that the damage of the first salvo would be enough to sink the boss or at least heavily damage it for the frontline to land a final blow, so the bigger the damage output, the more will they shine. In general, ships that can carry two fighters at the same time would serve better than other carriers due to Messerschmitts dealing a whopping amount of damage to a single target, but regular torpedo and dive bombers are fine too. Usually British carriers tend to have two slots designated for fighters, so Albion and Implacable are a good option. Lastly, it might be a wise decision to utilize an aircraft carrier with slowing capabilities to make sure that every torpedo will hit the boss without a miss. Ark Royal, August von Parseval, Implacable and a few others will do the job perfectly, but you can destroy the boss without them.
As was said earlier, there is no point in using torpedo-focused ships, so the general strategy with assigning Shimakaze, Yuudachi and the others to the fleet would stand no chance against the boss's shields. Therefore, the only purpose of the frontline is to survive for long enough for backfleet to neutralize Souryuu META. One heavy or large cruiser would be enough to increase the overall survival rate of the Vanguard line, so Azuma, Ägir, Roon and her Muse variant and Anchorage are a very solid option. Nevertheless, you may not use the said ships at all and utilize two light cruisers instead. As for the rest of the fleet composition, if the ships are lacking an ability to deal a lot of damage by themselves, they can at least buff the backline: Plymouth is used for the battleship, Helena -- to increase the effectiveness of the whole fleet, and Kazagumo -- to give carriers a 15%-buff to the damage output. They can easily be substituted with Emden, Helena META, Sirius and some other destroyers with the Air Raid Assistance skill, Ariake or Yuugure as an example.
it should be noted that evasion mechanics do not work in the EX mode, making Improved Hydraulic Rudder and other auxiliary equipment of the same purpose completely useless. Therefore, your Vanguard must use items that give them more HP or/and those, which increase the fleet's overall movement speed, which can be considered as one of the most important things in this gamemode. And if you want to get as much points as possible, minimize the amount of equipment used.
