In an effort to strengthen the capacity of countries in Central America and the Caribbean to develop and implement gender sensitive human rights based programs and services to reduce the number of new HIV infections in young people (ages 10-24) and promote their sexual and reproductive health so that they can reach their full potential, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Guatemala and PAHO/WHO formed a strategic partnership in 2009 to implement the five year multi-country initiative “HIV Prevention in Young People Using a Human Rights Framework in Central America and the Caribbean”.
