Ballistics gel testing plus pork shot and sliced. You've seen worse on the Food Network but be warned. Now, turn on HD!
Gone, apparently, are the fancy ladies on DRT's ammunition boxes but the company's mystery-metal compressed bullet core remains. These bullets are alleged to powder on impact imparting all their energy within their targets but are designed to powder in only two circumstances: after soft tissue penetration or when striking concrete, steel, or other very, very hard surfaces (no, not wood). That doesn't sound overly inviting for home defense situations which is what we're primarily interested in in this video.
We should test one of their .223s in the future...
*This video gives no insight into to the "stopping power" or "safety" of DRT's ammunition for use in any scenario. Looking for ammunition that's right for you? The results seen here are merely a curiosity. They are neither scientific nor informative.
