I had this issue the other day for my truck.had very low fuel pressure and running ruff after sitting for about 20 minutes on a hot day. Once I got truck running I noticed the fuel pressure was way low like 24psi. Once I started getting some cooler gas in the fuel rail the fuel pressure started to climb slowly. I have aftermarket fuel injection with inline fuel pump. My fuel pump does not have a anti drain back or check valve. Fuel in the fuel rail needs to be under pressure to prevent boiling. I'm guessing my fuel was boiling and the pressure was pushing the fuel back in the tank. This is not usually a problem with factory cars because they come from the factory with a check valve. I put this jegs check valve in right after the fuel pump. This will keep pressure in my fuel rail and hopefully will stop the fuel from boiling.
