Crispy Pork Spring Rolls
This is an easy recipe for homemade Spring Rolls.
You can use any ingredients you like to get the perfect spring roll to your own taste.
We used one pound of ground pork, but feel free to keep it vegetarian and follow the same recipe.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 LB- ground pork
1 cup- grated carrots
1 cup- grated onion
1/2 cup- water chestnuts
1/4 cup- chopped scallions
2 TBSP- sesame oil (divided)
3 TBSP- soy sauce (divided)
spring roll wrappers
oil for frying
1 each- whisked egg
Method:
Add 1 TBSP sesame oil to a saute pan or wok.
Lightly brown the pork over mediumheat.
Add 1 TBSP soy sauce, garlic and pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
Remove the pork, set aside and cool.
Add 1 TBSP sesame oil to a saute pan or wok.
When the oil is hot, add carrots and onions.
Cook for 5-7 minutes until the carrots and onions soften.
Add the pork mixture back to the pan.
Add 2 TBSP soy sauce, water chestnut and scallion and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
Remove and cool.
Place a spring roll wrapper in a diamond shape on a work surface.
Add 1.5 TBSP of the pork mixture to the wrapper.
Begin to roll the wrapper, spread egg wash to the corners of the wrapper to create a seal.
Fold the sides of the wrapper and continue to fold until you have a complete roll.
We like to double roll our wrapper, they are nice and crispy and help to get a tight roll with the second wrapper.
Fry in 350F oil.
Our homemade dipping sauce is made of:
Soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, brow sugar, lime juice sambal, sesame oil and hot chili oil.
If you make this dipping sauce, add the ingredients to your preference.
