Raptors - rescued and tested to see if they can make it in the natural world. If they fail the test (which all of these did), they become ambassadors in an educational program. I had never seen a "live" museum before. I thought they were stuffed raptors and then they moved. They each had an injury (wing, head, eye...) that will not allow them to function in the wild.
I got to meet the Educators and the Volunteers and they were very kind, knowledgeable and truly cared about the place and the well being of all the birds and animals. I am not a fan of zoos and enclosed spaces but the birds had a purpose - to educate and were very healthy. Please do not bash or bad-mouth this post if you do not support this in any way. I will have to remove your comment. The folks there seemed to be very genuine in their caring.
