Piraeus is the main port of Athens, the capital city of Greece, and it serves as an important hub for tourism in the region. It is located about 12 kilometers southwest of the city center of Athens. The easiest way to get there is by taxi or metro.
The port has a range of facilities for tourists, including shops, cafes, restaurants, and currency exchange bureaus. There are also ATMs and luggage storage facilities available. From Piraeus Port, you can take ferries to a range of destinations in Greece, including the Greek islands. There are also buses and trains that connect the port to Athens and other parts of the country.
While Piraeus itself is not a major tourist destination, there are plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area. Some popular nearby attractions include the Acropolis and the Parthenon in Athens, as well as the beaches and ancient ruins on the nearby island of Aegina.
Piraeus Port is also a major cruise port, and many tourists start or end their Mediterranean cruises here. There are a range of cruise lines that operate out of Piraeus, offering cruises to destinations such as the Greek islands, Italy, and Turkey.
