Semifinal Bout of the 2013 European Championships Men's Foil held in Zagreb, Croatia between James-Andrew Davis of Great Britain and Alexey Cheremisinov of Russia.
Davis qualified for the 2012 London Olympics because the Olympics were held in the UK and did pretty well in the Teams. Davis had a good season in the season of 2012-13, winning Gold at the 2013 St Petersburg World Cup, he enters this competition as World Rank No. 10
Cheremisinov had won the European Championships in 2012 by beating Richard Kruse in the semifinal and reigning Olympic Champion, Benjamin Kleibrink in the final. At the London Olympic Games, in the individual event, Cheremisinov was disappointed with a big loss against Baldini in the quarterfinal (15-5). In the team event Russia had a big lead against Germany, but Kleibrink pulled a big comeback against Renal Ganeev in the 8th to bring Germany within 2, then Peter Joppich edged out Cheremisinov in the 9th for Germany to win.
Cheremisinov enters this competition as the World Rank No. 2, having won the 2013 Tokyo Grand Prix and a Bronze at the Bonn World Cup.
