If you ask any motorcycle rider, the most common change after exhausts/remaps is sprocket/gearing changes. Usually dropping a tooth on the front or upping the teeth on the rear to improve the low end grunt, increase acceleration and have a more useable bike through the gears.
The standard gearing of 15T/43 is fine, but I've always gone down 1 tooth on the front to give the bike more character and increase the fun factor. The process is straightforward for any normal biker with a good set of tools (32mm Socket for the sprocket nut).
However, the Euro 5 bikes don't appear to like the change as it probably messes with some parameters that might make the ECU think they are out of bounds and hence flash the DTC/DWC and remove the gear indicator on the Dash.
It throws a P0919 fault code - Gear Shift Position Control Error, which doesn't really make it easier to diagnose. I found a google link to @DeussenEngines who may have a workaround - and hopefully @BHPUK can sort something out too.
