Dr. Mike Sapieha is an associate professor at the University of Montreal and is an FBC-funded scientist. This year, Dr. Sapieha was the recipient of the prestigious ARVO Cogan award, which recognizes an outstanding researcher under the age of 45 who has made significant contributions to vision science. His groundbreaking research investigates the role that gut bacteria plays in the development of wet age-related macular degeneration.
