The Federal Republic of Central America was a country that consisted of modern-day Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala the Mexican province Chiapas, which was a country in the time of 1823 – 1840. The country was in bad shape when it got independent in 1821, and later got absorbed by Mexico. After becoming independent, the country lost Costa Rica and Chiapas, but that was only the tip of what would happen.
After a series of events talked about in this video, it caused a civil war which ultimately dissolved the country.
