Sand Boas are mild mannered snakes that are relatively modest in size. While most Boas Constrictors are large, powerful snakes known for their size and strength, Kenyan Sand Boas (Gongylophis colubrinus) don't often reach more than 2 feet long. Some can reach 3 feet in length, but they are often a bit shorter. This snake here is a Kenyan Sand Boas. Kenyan Sand Boas have a pinkish orange undertone, that is covered in brown blothes or patches. Sometimes the color on these snakes can be more pink and brown. They have eliptical pupils and will often sit submerged in sand and wait for prey items such as small rodents and lizards to come by. The snake snathces up the meal and swallows it whole. These are non venomous snakes and are completely harmless to humans. #animals #snake #nature
