This tip gives one of the methods to quickly butt join two pieces of timber together. using nailed on jointing plates.

This process requires the following:
2 x joint plates e.g. [ Ссылка ]
2 x pieces of timber
Twisted nails e.g. [ Ссылка ]
Hammer e.g. [ Ссылка ]

Lay the two pieces of wood together on flat ground. end to end. Hammer in the joint (nail) plates. Twisted nails should be used as they do not come out easily if the wood moves. Each hole should have a nail in it. If the wood thickness is thinner than twice the depth of the twisted nail then slightly offset the nail sets on each side.
