HANSEN DAM - At approximately 2145, LAFD responded to multiple reports of a brush fire in the Hansen Dam Recreation Area. Arriving units found a half acre of heavy brush on fire, possibly in a homeless encampment. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to about half an acre and stopped the rate of spread in about half an hour. LACoFD Hand Crews were called in to cut a line around the fire area. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown.
