Hi, my name is Renzo Figari, and I'm a neurologist specializing in movement disorders, particularly in Parkinson's disease, patients with tremors, dystonia, and chorea. I have a special interest also in functional neurological disorders.
I chose neurology because the work of the brain fascinated me; how each part of the brain can trail to different parts of your body and how they work together and are connected. I am passionate about improving the quality of life of patients with movement disorders, especially Parkinson's disease. This means making sure that the changes we make in the office will be meaningful for the patients in their daily activities.
Here at UVA, at the movement disorder clinic, I think we have an excellent team of doctors. It's not just myself, but the collaboration of doctors that try to get the best outcomes for the patient and really make an improvement in their quality of life.
