The musical dream team of double bassist Edicson Ruiz and violinist Veronika Eberle perform the Passacaglia for violin and bass by Efrain Oscher, a variation on Bach’s Passacaglia in C minor. The coronavirus pandemic hasn't prevented Edicson Ruiz and his wife Veronika Eberle from pursuing their passion for making music together - here with a special concert for DW Classical Music. Our House Concerts offer a digital stage for some of the many classical music artists who are currently unable to perform. The recordings are made by the artists themselves or by a single camera operator.
Right now, playing music at home is a great challenge for Edicson Ruiz and Veronika Eberle, since they have to be careful not to wake their four-month-old son! Double bassist Edicson Ruiz has been a member of the Berlin Philharmonic since 2003. Edicson Ruiz was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He launched his career in the Simón Bolívar National Youth Orchestra of Venezuela, which he joined at the age of 16.
German violinist Veronika Eberle has had a similarly impressive career. She has played with the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of conductor Sir Simon Rattle, and with the HR Sinfonie Orchester under Paavo Järvi.
