This is a compilation of extra footage from the Egg Smashing Machine, including tests of tricks from when I was building it, the first full take of the machine, and fails.

Information about Each Trick:
Marble Spiral: This was the first trick I built for the machine. As a builder, I’d always been surprised by how few marble spiral tricks existed given how frequently they were used in simpler machines, and for years I’ve wanted to make a marble spiral trick of my own. I wasn’t able to use an actual marble spiral from a marble run set as the hole in the center was too small, so I ordered a silver spiral to use specifically for this trick. Testing this trick was frustrating because there was never really a way to know whether the marbles would get jammed or not. I originally planned on using colorful marbles for this trick but switched to smaller glass marbles as they were more consistent.
Dominoes on Gears: Originally this trick was supposed to be much more complicated than it ended up being, but I decided to remove the trick because it didn't work well (mainly because of the gap between tracks on the gears and the fallen dominoes) and was too complicated. Instead, I decided to expand off of a smaller aspect of that trick to create the Dominoes on Gears trick, which was more consistent, cleaner, and more interesting than what I had before. This is one of those tricks that seemed wild in theory, but was actually pretty easy to execute, as the dominoes surprisingly didn't fall while the gears were spinning.
Rolling Gear: This was not a trick that I had planned or conceived of prior to building. While I was building the rotating domino trick, I had a fourth gear connected to a track that I’d removed from that trick that was lying around within the mess on my machine table for a while. Messing around with it, I noticed how the track rotating with the gear as it rolled looked kind of cool, so I decided to make it into a trick. I was surprised by how easily the rolling gear would line up with the other tracks. The biggest challenge of this trick was actually keeping the gear in its initial position on the table, as it often wanted to roll into the center of the table due to the slight curvature of the table. This was actually a lot trickier to resolve than I thought it would.
Egg Smasher: This was always the planned goal for the machine, and the business I worked with even sent me hammers specifically for this trick. However, implementing the hammers was surprisingly difficult due to how heavy they were and the vibrations they sent through the table. I went through many different designs of this trick and even had the hammers drilled so I could construct the best mechanism possible. After many nights dedicated to this trick alone, I finally found the design for this trick that both looked and functioned best.
Egg Autotilt: I had not planned on building this trick, but when I was trying to find a good trick to start the machine with, I messed around with one of the plastic eggs I was using to test the hammers and decided to make an autotilt based on how the egg rolled. Getting the autotilt to tilt twice was surprisingly more challenging than it seemed.
Billiard Ball Board: Despite how this trick doesn't really present anything new to machines, I had a strange desire to do this trick for the machine. Building it was not hard, and I was surprised by how the 14-ball always had enough momentum to roll across the balls despite its low speed.
Kinetic Ball Dispenser: This trick was built to fill a small corner of space left on the table. It may not be the most impressive trick, but it was one of the easiest tricks I've ever had to build. There were no problems or issues that I had to resolve, it worked pretty consistently, and looked good on camera (except in the screenlink). I'm always open to using one of my kinetic motion toys in a machine if the trick is good enough, I was surprised, however, by how this was the only trick that no one talked about in the comments section in the final video.
Boo Keychain Slide: I had no intention of using the Boo Keychain in this machine, but I needed a trick to fill space and this trick looked smooth and made for some great pictures and B-roll.
Domino Knocker: This trick exists.
Ball Binder Dump: This trick was originally supposed to be a different, much more interesting trick, but it had to be cut due to the impact it had on the rest of the machine. I do plan to execute this trick in a future project.
Bead Chain Tube: Considering how the last tricks built for machines generally aren't great since space and supply constraints for machines are the highest at this point. However, I was very pleased with what I was able to come up with within the small space I had left to fill. This trick was easy to build, but not fun to reset.
