A quick little video from a visit to western Pennsylvania back in August. The Aliquippa & Ohio River Railroad, a small shortline owned by Genesee & Wyoming through its ownership of Ohio Central, operates between Lehigh Cement and the CSX interchange in Aliquippa, PA. The railroad operates over land formerly occupied by LTV Steel and serves Versatex Materials as well as the aforementioned Lehigh Cement at the end of active trackage. The Current power on this line is Ohio Central SW1500 1545, formerly owned by the Reading & Northern and Conrail before that. After catching a glimpse of the train across the Ohio River while we were checking out NS Conway Yard, we decided to head over for a few shots. We see the switcher pulling a consist of cement loads back towards Lehigh in a few locations along Woodland Road, including the impressive and sharp S-curve before the Cement Plant. Enjoy!!
