Raptor's blue laser uses only markers for tracking, unlike geometry tracking in Otter. When you move the scanner from one side to the other, it will lose visual for the previous markers then lost tracking. This's why it's better to use external targets, pyramid, scanning tower.
You can practically do continuous scan without merging if
- The object has some round shape, no 90 deg right angle.
- Having a thin, slim object holder where you can delete it without cutting into the object surface.
