Punk is not definitive. That is the driving ethos behind FLOOD’s new series "Punk as F*ck" hosted by Fucked Up's frontperson Damian Abraham. Damian’s reason for co-developing this docu-driven series of storytelling describes it best “I’m interested in the confluence of punk and anything.” The show is an unbridled and uncompromising look at living life on one’s own terms, following your own arrow and the art of being truly independent.
For the show’s first season, Abraham—the self-described “punk rock librarian, Fucked Up band member, philosopher and hardcore weed advocate/consumer”—delves deep into the heart of punk culture around the City of Angels: “A city like Los Angeles, which bubbles over with musical significance, is littered with the ghosts of punk’s past dwellings,” Abraham stresses. “Today’s stores, corporate coffee chains and parking lots cover up where once this vital art form of the youth and noise was voiced. Though mostly gone in brick and mortar form, the sonic reverberations and impact of the patron of said places are still being felt.”
In this debut episode, Abraham catches up with iconic producer and Shellac/Big Black ringleader Steve Albini and Germs drummer Don Bolles.
