Air-to-air images taken on Friday by Typhoon pilots show four Sukhoi Su-34 fighters, four MiG-31 Foxhound fighters and two Curl transport aircraft as they attempted to fly over Estonia.
The Russian aircraft were "monitored by the RAF Typhoons and escorted on their way", according to the MoD.
