Lilium nepalense hybrids: first of all sorry for talking about this lily as Kushi Maya, I thought it was this hybrid at the time of the video as I bought the lilies bulbs as Kushi Maya, but after a chat with my facebook group Lily Lovers, I realized that evidently the bulbs were mislabelled because Kushi Maya has downward facing flowers, and not outwards or upwards facing flowers, so these lilies are probably other Lilium nepalense hybrids such as Zeba, Yin or Yang. Hybrids between Lilium nepalense and orientals are some of the most beautiful interdivisional Lilium hybrids, showing gorgeous pale green tepals flushed with dark red - burgundy in the central part of the flower as well as in the central external part of the tepals. They are often also very pleasantly fragrant during both daytime and nighttime, the scent will not perfume your whole garden as many trumpet and oriental lilies do, but will definitely give you the pleasure of a wonderful fragrance when you get close to the flower to observe the details of the striking colour pattern of the flower, very similar to Lilium nepalense. They are fully hardy in the UK (USDA zones 7 and 8) and thrive in partial shade and well drained soil. I hope that you enjoyed the video and again sorry for talking about this lily as Kushi Maya, and if you liked this video and you would like to support my YouTube garden channel and have regular updates, it would be great if you would subscribe to my channel by clicking on the button "subscribe".
