The Amazon rainforest is one of the world's most unique and important ecosystems. Yet the health of the rainforest and the people who live there is threatened by the construction of large projects, such as energy plants, dams, highways and mines. Mott Foundation grantees are among those working to ensure that investors in these projects adopt responsible development policies and practices, and are held accountable for any negative social and environmental impacts of the projects they fund.
