Thousands of people were forced out of their homes in Senegal’s capital of Dakar, Monday, September 7, after a storm brought nearly a year’s worth of rain in a single day over the weekend.
Senegalese authorities said they have launched an emergency plan that allows the quick release of funds for rescue and evacuation efforts.
Meteorologist are forecasting more rain this week, raising concerns of flood damage in Dakar, where drainage capacity from homes and roads are often poor. (AP)
