For many Christians this story is common and much of the mystery is lost. Its a fascinating, yet strange story of God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son. The conclusion of the story points us in one direction, looking at the person of Jesus as God's sacrificial lamb. This God demonstrating his great love for us, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
